🪙 insert coin
Prepaid, billed per second, always shown per hour and max per month. No invoices chasing you, no surprise bills — when the wallet says €5, you spend €5.
🎁 what's free, and what comes back
- 100 GB egress free, every project, every month — you only pay for traffic past that, at €0.01/GB. Ingress is always free.
- The sloop starts at €8/month — the smallest boat on the ladder, plenty for a side project, webhook, or bot.
- Refer a friend, earn 5% — 5% of everything they spend lands back in your wallet, paid from our margin. They keep 100% of theirs.
⚓ boat sizes

Billed per second — the monthly figure is a cap, not a commitment. Scale to zero and pay nothing.
🧾 what you'd actually pay
Computed from the rates above. Domains add the registrar's wholesale cost on top of the €2 margin shown. Billed per second — scale to zero and these drop too.

❓ questions from the crow's nest
How does per-second billing work?
You prepay a wallet; usage is deducted continuously per second of vCPU, RAM, and storage. Every price is shown per hour AND as a max-per-month cap, so there are never surprises.
What happens when my wallet runs out?
You get warnings at 7 days, 3 days, 24 hours, and 1 hour of estimated runway. At zero you get a 24-hour grace period before apps stop. Volumes, backups, and domains are kept.
Is there a free tier?
Every project gets 100 GB of egress free per month, and the smallest boat (the sloop) costs €8/month — a couple of coffees.
What is a boat?
A preset size on our resource ladder: the 1-vCPU sloop, the 2-vCPU ketch, and the 4-vCPU galleon. You can also mix vCPU and RAM freely — whole vCPUs, power-of-two RAM steps.
How do my apps send email?
Point your app's mailer at our managed SMTP: host smtp.bootload.io, port 1587, STARTTLS, using the SMTP username and password from your project's Mail page in the portal. Why 1587 and not the usual 587? Every app sails inside its own microVM, and microVMs are blocked from opening direct SMTP connections to the open sea (ports 25, 465, and 587) — that's our anti-abuse moat that keeps the whole fleet off spam blocklists. Port 1587 is the dedicated submission dock that routes you straight into the relay instead. Everything else is unchanged: your mail is DKIM-signed and billed at €0.001 per accepted email.
